The spectacular Ramsgate New Year’s Eve Winter Lantern Parade, has the theme of Love, Peace and Joy to the World this year.
It starts outside St George’s Church, parading down the High Street and Harbour Street to finish up at the Ramsgate Tunnels for refreshments and more fun.
Go along to one of our artist-led free workshops beforehand, to make things to wear and lanterns to carry in the parade.
Look out for lantern making templates in your children's school book bags too!

A special feature of this year’s New Year’s Eve celebrations will be the illuminated tower of St George’s Church. From just after 10pm a countdown will begin, building towards midnight. Designed by James Brown AV, inspired by Fibonacci’s Golden Ratio, the colour sequence will be visible across the town, whether you’re out and about or celebrating at home. (For more information on places to eat, drink and sleep on New Year’s Eve see Visit Ramsgate.)
